Violations of the following policies will not be tolerated within the Libraries and are subject to disciplinary action including termination of employment.
University policy prohibits the use, possession, and abuse of drugs and alcohol in the workplace, in addition to working under the influence.
Threats and acts of violence of any kind will not be tolerated within the Libraries. This includes verbal harassment, intimidation, physical assault, possession of weapons, reckless endangerment, etc. If the situation is not one of immediate danger, an employee who is a witness or victim of violence in the workplace should report the incident to the appropriate supervisor and/or human resources as soon as possible. Call the University Police (740-593-1911) whenever you see or receive a report of a criminal offense or a threat to a person. Also report any incident of this nature to your supervisor.
OHIO University and the University Libraries do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment and all employees are responsible for compliance with the policy. Those who experience harassment or any form of discriminatory conduct should contact University Equity and Civil Rights Compliance. Student employees should be aware that OHIO University staff are obligated by university policy to report any disclosed information relating to sexual misconduct, even if the incident did not occur in the workplace.
