OHIO University Libraries Student Employee Handbook

Is there a dress code?

Although there is not a specific dress code for OHIO University Libraries, there may be restrictions or advice from the departments or supervisors. For example, there are jobs that involve moving, standing, and/or heavy lifting, so you will want to keep your tasks in mind for comfort and safety. As general guidance, you will want to wear clothing that allows for your safety and does not threaten the safety of others.

Workplace clothing considerations:

  • closed-toe shoes when handling heavy objects or book carts.

  • comfortable shoes for standing or walking.

  • sleeve length for warmer/cooler days in the library and/or layers.

For more information, please visit the University Human Resources page for Student Workers or consult with your student supervisor.
