Getting Started with Adobe Premiere Pro

If you’re new to Premiere Pro, this tutorial will guide you through the very first steps of starting a video-editing project.

Step 5: Create a Sequence

  1. In the Project panel locate your main video clip (or decide on settings).
  2. Right-click on the clip and choose New Sequence from Clip. This automatically creates a sequence with matching settings (resolution, frame rate).
  3. Alternatively: File → New → Sequence… and select a preset or customize manually.
  4. Rename the sequence (e.g., “Main_Edit”) and drag it into a bin called “Sequences” to keep things tidy.
  5. Double-click the sequence to open it in the Timeline panel. You’re now ready to edit!
