If you're working with a relatively modern writer and want to find news coverage of events contemporaneous with his/her life, newspaper articles might be very valuable. Access to newspaper archives is complicated; we've tried to sort it out for you in our pages about newspapers on the Libraries' main website.
For additional titles, look at other Subject and Course Guides that are appropriate to your area, especially those on International Studies.
The databases listed below are NOT included in ArticlesPlus.
Major database for classics. It includes journal articles, books, dissertations, etc. Search for either ancient authors or modern scholars, as well as various subjects and disciplines. Covers 1924 to the present.
Indexes more than 410,000 records on all subjects (especially humanities and social sciences) pertaining to East, Southeast, and South Asia published worldwide from 1971 to the present.
The IMB database comprises records deriving from articles published in periodicals (journals) and in miscellany volumes (conference proceedings, collected essays, Festschriften and exhibition catalogues) published world-wide. All subjects relating to the Middle Ages are included, within the date range 300-1500 AD. Geographical areas covered are Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
