Major subjects covered include: The arts, business and training, health sciences, media and communication, natural sciences, social sciences, and teacher education. Users can search, browse and see previews of videos; many videos come with transcripts.

The Media Education Foundation (MEF) Gender Studies Collection produces and distributes documentary films and other educational resources (including study guides and transcripts) to inspire critical thinking about the social, political, and cultural impact of American mass media. Ohio University Libraries has purchased this smaller collection of documentaries based on their high use within the university community. Some popular titles include: Tough Guise, Dreamworlds, Killing Us Softly, Codes of Gender, Boys to Men, The Bro Code and many more. These videos, hosted by Kanopy streaming service, are licensed to be shown in and out of the classroom, embedded on blackboard, and for use in online classes.

Academic Video Online (AVON) delivers more than 64,000 video titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film and more. AVON includes every kind of video material available with curricular relevance: documentaries, interviews, performances, news programs and newsreels, field recordings, commercials, and raw footage. Users will find thousands of award-winning films, as well as the most frequently used films for classroom instruction, plus newly released films and previously unavailable archival material.
