Step 1: Transfer Media from Your Phone to Your Computer

1.1 For Android Devices

  1. Connect your Android phone to your computer using a USB cable.

  2. On your phone, when prompted, choose File Transfer / MTP mode (or similar) so your computer can access the phone’s storage.

  3. On your computer, open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac if supported) and locate your phone’s storage.

  4. Inside your phone folders, find the media you want (often under DCIM for video/photos).

  5. Copy the video/photo files you want and paste them into a folder on your computer (for example: MyVideosFromPhone).

  6. Safely eject your phone from the computer once the transfer finishes.

1.2 For Apple (iPhone/iPad) Devices

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer using the USB cable.

  2. On your device, you may be asked whether you Trust this Computer — tap Trust and enter the device passcode if required.

  3. On Windows: open “Apple Mobile Device” in File Explorer or open the Photos app and import. On Mac: open Finder or the Photos app.

  4. Locate the videos / photos you want to work with (often in the Photos app or Files app).

  5. Copy the media to a folder on your computer (for example: iPhoneMediaForPremiere).

  6. If your phone uses HEVC / HEIF formats, note that Premiere Pro supports many but you may need to transcode if problems appear.

  7. Eject your iPhone/iPad safely after the transfer.
