Step 5: Review & Relink Media if Needed

  1. After importing, you may see a yellow “media offline” or “media missing” warning—this happens if the file path changed or files were moved after import.

  2. To relink: right-click the missing clip in the Project panel → Link Media… → navigate to the correct file location on your computer and select it.

  3. If you anticipate working on different computers or drives, consider using Project → Project Manager… to collect and copy media into one folder to avoid missing files.

  4. Play back a few clips in the Timeline to ensure they import correctly from your phone (check for codec issues, audio drift, etc.).

  5. If your phone used HEVC or other newer formats, and you experience playback or import problems, you may need to transcode to a more common format (such as H.264) before working in Premiere Pro.
