Find the Full Text in an Article Database
In the library world "full text" is your indication that the entire article is available for you to read.
Most of our full text links look something like this:
Click on that link and you'll go to a page where you can download or read the entire article as a PDF document.
If you don't see the PDF Full Text link, it means that the database you are searching in does not have full text access to the article. Instead you should see something like this:
We call this the Find It! button. It will look in all of the Libraries resources to see if we have full text access to the article. It will open up a new page with a link to the full text or a message saying we don't have access to the full text of the article.
Find the Full Text from a Citation
If you just a have a citation in front of you -- perhaps in a book or article bibliography -- you can try the following steps to locate the full text of the article.
- Search for the article title in Articles Plus and look for the full text or FindIt! link.
- Look for the journal title and conduct a Periodical Title search in ALICE to see if we have a subscription. The video below walks you through this process.
