The databases below contain industry overviews, analysis, and statistics.  Use each resource to  gather a significant understanding of the candy and confections industry.  

Use the  "Tips" tabs  for specific search tips, keywords,  and strategies for each database.

  • Search for "candy," "chocolate," "confectionery," etc. to find industry reports.

Passport has some incredible content for the candy and confections industry, though the resource can be a bit overwhelming to navigate.  For this industry, I suggest you do the following:

  1. Upon arriving to Passport, select the "Industries" menu at the top of the page.
  2. Select "Food and Nutrition" then "Snacks."
  3. In the drop-down menu on the upper left side of the page, select "Snacks," "Confectionery," and any other categories, then click "Go."
  4. On the next page, click the "Plus (+)" sign next to "Confectionery" then select al of the sub categories.
  5. Next, use the "Select Geographies" tab and choose the countries/markets you wish to research. 
  6. Once at least one geography is selected, click the "View Results" button in the top right of the page. 
  7. The next page provides tabs of information for "Statistics," "Analysis," and "Dashboards."
  8. Have fun using Passport!

To Find General Industry Reports

  1. Select "Search Industries" in the search menu in the top-right of the page to look for terms such as "candy," "confectionery," "chocolate," "gum," etc.  
  2. Choose an industry to find an industry summary, news, some market research reports, and a list of industry participants. 

To find the very useful First Research Reports

  1. Select "Research & Reports" in the search menu in the top-right of the page to look for terms such as "candy."
  2. Click the "Modify" and choose "First Research" under the Report Type.
  3. In the list of results, look for the "First Research" reports.
  • Search for brand, company, industry keywords to find relevant statistics.
  • Be sure to check out the "Source Link" for each statistic to expand upon the information.
