Outdoor Recreation Industry Guide

Industry analysis, consumer trends, and participant data for the outdoor recreation industry the relevant activities

Chad and his son on a bike rideThe Outdoor Recreation industry is a broad term that encompasses many activities.  For the purpose of this guide, it does not include golf courses, amusement parks, outdoor concerts/festivals/sporting events, or manufacturers of outdoor recreational products.

Because the outdoor recreation industry is so broad, you may have to search for information about the activities within the industry, which may include:

  • Hunting and fishing
  • Mountain biking
  • Boating, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and paddleboarding
  • Backpacking and hiking
  • Camping
  • retailers and services that support the above activities
  • (there's a bunch more I haven't listed or thought about yet)

In other words, there won't be many all-encompassing outdoor recreation reports available, so you'll need to piece together information from the broader industry and the individual activities.

Navigate through the research process using the links on the left side of the page.
