ALICE Catalog

ALICE is  Ohio University's Library Catalog, useful for finding the books, magazines, journals, newspapers, videos and other materials in our collections.

  • ALICE includes the collections of both the Athens main campus and the regional campuses.
  • If you need e-books, choose "World wide Web" from the drop-down box.

Careful! ALICE does NOT search individual articles in magazines, journals or newspapers -- only publication titles. If you have a citation and wish to find the article itself, C&P the article title into Articles Plus -- or let us help you find it!

Getting Your Books

  1. Search ALICE (see search box above). If Ohio University owns the book, note the Call Number, Location, and Status and go get it!!
  2. If the Location part of the record in ALICE says Library Annex or some other OU campus, click on the button and complete the form. You will be notified by email when the book is ready for you to pick up.
  3. If we don't own the book, or if you are looking for more choices for your search results, click on the button on the right side of the screen.  If you find something at an OhioLINK member library that you want and that is AVAILABLE, do a request for it. You will be notified by email when the book is ready for you to pick up, usually within a few days.
  4. If neither the OU Libraries nor any OhioLINK member library can supply the book, login to our Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery system (ILLiad) and request the book there.  You will be notified by email when the book is ready for you to pick up, which may take as long as several weeks.
