These links will lead you to specific newspapers in which you are able to find articles on public opinion through much of American history.  

 

Newspaper Databases

These are large newspaper databases in which you can search for your specific event or for reporting on public opinion from many newspapers at once. These databases will include multiple newspapers from across the country. These newspaper databases will search your topic in a wide variety of newspapers ranging from national to local, or regional, newspapers.  

Newspaper Source

Newspaper Source contains selected full text for 245 regional U.S. newspapers, eighteen international newspapers, six newswires, nine newspaper columns, and cover-to-cover full text for The Christian Science Monitor and The Los Angeles Times. This database also contains indexing and abstracts for four national newspapers.

America's Newspapers

Provides Web-based access to current and archived content from more than 2,000 newspaper titles, as well as newswires, transcripts, business journals, periodicals, government documents and other publications.

Nexis Uni

This database is likely one of the more powerful newspaper databases that we have access to.  For the purposes of this course, make sure that you are only searching news sources and NOT the legal content.
