2021 Juneteenth Acquisitions

Ohio University Libraries is pleased to present the first set of acquisitions made in honor of Ohio University's 2021 inaugural Juneteenth celebrationEducation Through Celebration: Our History, Our Hope. Each year, members of the campus Juneteenth celebration planning committee are offered a slate of potential acquisitions prepared by the Libraries that range from electronic resources to artists' books and rare books, and are asked vote on their top choice. Items listed as "primary" are the top choice of the committee.

We invite you to explore, through the links in the menu on the left, the artists' books, databases, and historic rare books that help to illustrate Black history and the legacy of Juneteenth. We hope you will use these resources in your research, writing, teaching, and learning.

The artists' books and historic rare books can be accessed in person at the Mahn Center for Archives & Special Collections.
