Alden Library's Archives and Special Collections
The Mahn Center for Archives and Special Collections at Alden Library, 5th floor, is the official archive of the university. There you will find files, photos, documents, and papers related to OU's people and places. Also scrapbooks, student publications, sports programs, and other memorabilia! Don't hesitate to go ask them if they have sources for your research.
Note they have limited hours, and their materials must be used in-house!
Mahn Center staff along with the Libraries' Digital Initiatives staff have done several digitizing projects that relate to the history of the University:
- Ohio University Alumni JournalsAlumni Journals, 1893-2001. Titles include Ohio University Bulletin (1893-1923), The Ohio Alumnus (1923-1970), Ohio University Alumni Journal (1970-1978), Ohio University Today (1978-1999), and Ohio Today (1999-2001). A collaborative project of the Alumni Association and University Libraries.
- Ohio University ArchivesHistoric Ohio University-related materials including photos, maps, documents, publications, videos, and memorabilia.
- Ohio University YearbooksYearbooks 1892-2009. Yearbooks were published most years as either the Athena or Spectrum Green. A collaborative project of the Alumni Association and University Libraries.
