I've created this beginner's guide for the person who is looking at film for the first time.  It's' a quick guide to researching the background of the film, the director and/or the film, along with some information on the basics of Film Analysis.  I've taken many parts of the Yale University Film Analysis Guide and simplified the information, but the guide is amazing and I would recommend it highly.
