Primary Source Databases

Primary sources are original records created at the time historical events occurred or after events in the form of memoirs and oral histories. It may include letters, manuscripts, diaries, journals, newspapers, speeches, interviews, memoirs, documents produced by government agencies. May also include photographs, audio recordings, moving pictures or video recordings, research data, and objects or artifacts. Center for Research Libraries (CRL)

Ohio University Libraries is a member of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) an international consortium of university, college, and independent research libraries. CRL has in its collections many African newspapers, journals, documents, doctoral dissertations, archives, and other traditional and digital resources. CRL also houses the Cooperative Africana Materials Project (CAMP) collections. CAMP preserves publications and archives concerning the nearly fifty nations of Sub-Saharan Africa and makes them available on microform. These collections are available to members  through interlibrary loan and electronic delivery. You can search the CRL catalog for titles we do not own and request it through interlibrary loan.
